Routes worth flying
Kathmandu–Pokhara saves six and a half hours each way and is the single best use of a domestic ticket in Nepal.
Kathmandu–Lukla has no realistic alternative unless you have three spare days to walk in from Salleri.
Kathmandu–Bharatpur for Chitwan saves five hours; the bus is comfortable enough that this one is optional.
Pokhara–Jomsom is a spectacular twenty-minute flight up the Kali Gandaki gorge, restricted to early mornings before the wind.
Booking
Book through an agency or the airline websites. Yeti, Buddha and Shree operate most tourist routes. Schedules shift; confirm the day before.
