Kyanjin Gompa is the end of the Langtang Valley trek and the base for its best walking. Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m) is a steep two hours; Tserko Ri (4,984 m) is a serious pre-dawn start with a full sweep of Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri and the Tibetan border peaks.
The yak-cheese factory, established with Swiss help in the 1950s, still operates and still sells.
